# Sienna for AI agents

Sienna is Knobs.co's automated cabinet-hardware advisor. Knobs.co (Tail of the Lion, Inc., U.S.-based, selling cabinet hardware online since 2004) carries cabinet knobs, pulls, hinges, bath hardware and door hardware from Top Knobs, Atlas Homewares, Jeffrey Alexander, Amerock, Emtek, Rocky Mountain Hardware, Schaub, Hickory Hardware and many more. This endpoint lets an agent acting for a shopper ask Sienna one question and get one complete answer, with links to the exact products.

- `q` (required): the shopper's question in plain words, up to 600 characters. Include what you know: room, drawer widths, existing hole spacing (center-to-center), finish, style, budget per piece, brand likes or dislikes.
- `format=json` for JSON; the default is Markdown. `Accept: application/json` also works. POST with a JSON body `{"q": "..."}` is accepted too.
- Response (JSON): `{ ok, question, answer, products:[{title, vendor, url, finish, size, overall_length, listed_price, price_from, price_to, variant_id, sku, image, why}], needs_person, person_reason, cached, links }`.

## What Sienna answers

- Sizing: which pull length for a drawer width, knobs versus pulls, one pull or two, the standard 128 mm (5-1/16") size, how existing holes constrain the choice.
- Finding products: a series, size and finish that fits ("a 6-5/16-inch pull in champagne bronze under $12"), what sizes a series comes in, matching knobs and pulls within a collection.
- Finish and style guidance: what pairs with a faucet or appliance finish, shaker versus slab doors, mixing finishes.
- Store facts: samples, returns, the trade program, how to reach a person.

Prices are list prices and are confirmed at checkout. Sienna never states stock or lead times; when part of a question needs our team (stock, an order, a quote, a return, something not found) the answer says so and `needs_person` is true.

## Limits and manners

- One question per request. The same question is answered from cache for 24 hours. Per-address and daily limits apply; a 429 means try later or use the links above.
- Give the shopper the product links exactly as returned (they carry a tag that tells us the order came through an agent; nothing about the shopper is in them).
